Katz Has Gone Bankrupt
So you go into a pub and order a beer. What’s the first thing that happens? That’s right, the bartender plops one of those little cardboard coaster down in front of you.
Those good times might be over!
See, almost all of those little doohickey’s are made by one company. The Katz Group from Germany has a monopoly on the industry. They control two thirds of the European market and a stunning 97% of the US market. Who knew?
But slumping beer sales and the bad economy have hit Katz. The company that has supplied the world with disposable coasters recently declared bankruptcy.
What does the future hold for the little cardboard coaster industry? Who knows? Only one thing is certain; uncertain times are ahead!
